Cooking with the Seasons

The prevelance of supermarkets and year round availability of any type of fruit or vegetable you can imagine means that most people have lost touch with the seasons.  Growing your own is a great way to reconnect with nature and enjoy food that is always at its best even if the eating window is small.  Trying new receipes to take advantage of the food when it is available also provides for a much more interesting and varied diet and saves money to boot!

Spring

Pick the first asparagus and rhubarb and enjoy amazing tasting new potatoes

Summer

Sweet and tasty peas, soft fruit and the freshest salad imaginable

Autumn

Take advantage of harvest season, apples & pears to beets and figs - yum!

Winter

Winter is a time for soups and stews and when earthy green veg are at their tastiest
